Leopard Spaces Background

After getting annoyed with the fact that Spaces doesn’t use desktop image for the background of the individual spaces, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to set that quite yet, I decided to avoid the weird disconnect, I’d set my desktop to the gradient that Spaces uses.

iPhone Bingo Update

A friend of mine, GutBomb, added some Bingo checking to my iPhone Bingo javascript. However, as of this moment, I have disabled the alerts. I’ll be working on an alternate notification system.
Also, I noticed the blog at manzzana.com had an interesting use for this little app: they used it to display their predictions for Monday!
Feel [...]

iPhone Bingo

I started putting something together.
After John Siracusa announced the One True Card for 2008, I wondered why he didn’t link to the iPhone version like he did last year. I figured it out, though, once I remembered last years MacWorld the iPhone was still a dream. How did we live before these things?
In any [...]

Flock

So… I’m trying out the Flock browser… and it’s relatively well put together.
I have two complaints: not enough web services (though it’s not *all* the flock people’s fault) and the … gecko base. *shudder* I’m so spoiled on webkit.
Anyway, that’s a long winded way of say that I’m also trying [...]

YouTube’s Future as Read Through the Tea-Leaves of Job Postings

I was looking through YouTube’s recent job listing and found some very interesting positions and job descriptions.
Going down the list, near the top they have Content Acquisition Associate. Maybe I’m wrong, but I take that to mean they will be buying content, possibly from their own users.
Secondly, there’s Content Editor, responsible for “Sourcing the best [...]

SVN Cleanup Crew

I posted a terminal command about 7 months ago about cleaning up SVN working directories. Unbeknownst to me, wordpress chewed up the code and spit out a useless shell of the command’s former self.
Here it is again, in all its glory:
find -d “your/working/directory” -name “.svn” -exec rm -r ‘{}’ \; -print
I needed it this time, [...]

iPhone libgcc?

I was looking at Gruber’s iPhone crash log… and came across:
0×31c38000 - 0×31c3ffff libgcc_s_v6.1.dylib UUID (C3CE0B41C9CA490EAEADA6D7EB997082) /usr/lib/libgcc_s_v6.1.dylib
Does that mean the iPhone’s OS X 1.0 is shipping with GCC?
edit: Daniel clears things up in the comments.
Also interesting:

0×31db9000 - 0×31dbcfff liblockdown.dylib UUID (30A0EB0C05724FA487617B860E360B88) /usr/lib/liblockdown.dylib

Hmmmm…
Another:

0×3026d000 - 0×3032cfff Celestial UUID (15045615F83249D49720253EBDF9132A) /System/Library/Frameworks/Celestial.framework/Celestial

What is the Celestial framework?

GrandCentral Changes Call Recording Feature

I just got an email from GrandCentral (totally awesome service, by the way):
Service Update: Changes to call recording feature
We wanted to let you know of an important update to how our call recording feature works. Starting today, we will be adding audio notifications to make it easier for people to know when recording has been [...]
