mexed miss… mixed messages.

i was just watching the presidential debates…
either kerry was totally misinformed or just misrepresenting (read: lying) on the bush administration or bush was lying straight out.
regarding nuclear proliferation (kerryism) / weapons of mass destruction (bushism):
kerry stated the bush administration cut funding for the removal of nuclear materials from russia.
bush countered that they have actually INCREASED [...]

mt. saint h.

it looks like mount st. helens is gonna blow again! keep watching… we’re gonna party like it’s 1980. or kinda like it. they predict the eruption should only affect a 3 mile radius, but then again, since when do we trust geologists… or is it geographicists we don’t trust? i forget.
and don’t say we didn’t [...]

the “last night” show.

i remember when i was younger i used to stay up late to watch johnny carson. i used to hate it when someone filled in for him (like leno!) and it took me by surprise to find out leno was taking over. i can’t remember how long ago that was, but i’ve found out (with [...]

ska sucks…

or not. regardless, however, i’ve redesigned http://endignorance.com… i wasn’t exactly redy to do so, but i also upgraded the forums… which kinda forced me to use a new layout on the main page.
we lost a few features (like the blogs, i’ve really got to get that working again) and gained a couple things. all in [...]

street photography.

i came across an interesting thread…
Any tips on taking photos of strangers?
i mean, for the most part someone was just asking for tips on taking photos of strangers.. however, someone posted:
~lostheart:
Hmmm, I wouldn’t want to have my picture taken by a stranger out on the street.
Period.
I even try to get the owners permission if I [...]

everything! including the rsync

i’m not sure what psync is and whether i should use that instead… but that backup script was reeeal easy.
y’all ready for this?
rsync -avz –delete /Users /Volumes/archive/_backup
rsync: calls up the rsync command. it’s like cp (copy) but it only copies the changes so you’re not doing a 30 gig copy every night.
-a = archive mode, [...]

omg (sp?)

smashing pumpkins.. doesn’t that just take you back to the mid 90’s….?
anyway, a new header to commemorate the addition of siamese dream to my ipod.
that rsync script is rrreally simple. as soon as this copy of my users dir goes finishes… ummm.. maybe i should just copy the whole hard drive over? or would [...]

ipod!

i’ve installed os x on my first gen ipod (5 gigs)!
[edit] heh.. i have to go into detail here…
when you install be sure you do a custom install, and remove almost all the extra software… unless you need it.. i guess… i have a couple external hard drives… one of which currently holds my itunes [...]

australia?

i forgot to mention… my coworker’s (second) last day was friday. he’s moving back to australia (and trying his damnedest to get me to move there too). he’s looking for a job. i put up his resume: http://bbarker.prototypecreative.com … there’s more i’ve got to work on for that… but at least this conveys the message…

mobility…

sometimes, i forget i have a laptop… at home i’ve got sooo many things plugged into it… printer, external keyboard, external mouse, two firewire hard drives, a wacom tablet, a couple usb cables (not sure what they’re for.. ones for a camera, i suppose.. maybe the other is for the other camera.. heh)… power cord… [...]
